James Charles Ainsworth, Sr. was born October 17, 1928 at Van Buren, Crawford Co., Ar. to William Henry & Matilda May Pierce Ainsworth. James married Betty Ann Shell June 28, 1948 in Scott County, Ar. Both were residents of Fort Smith, Sebastian Co., Ar. at that time. James enlisted in the US Army June 26, 1948, serving in WWII and the Korean War. His discharge date was Sept 23, 1949. His rank at that time was SFC - Sergeant First Class. James Charles Ainsworth, Sr. passed away June 11, 2001 at Fort Smith, Sebastian Co., Ar. His burial was at the National Cemetery in Fort Smith, Ar.
