Elmer Elza Smoot was born 24, 1899 in South Sebastian Co., Ar. to Norman Jones & Laura Emily Hunter Smoot. His first marriage was to Thelma Wilson, both being from Huntington, Sebastian Co., Ar. They divorced and he married Esma Joyce in June 10, 1922. June 12, 1917 Elmer enlisted in the US Army and served until May 13, 1919. Nothing more is found about his service. Elmer passed away in Fort Smith, Sebastian Co., Ar. His burial was in Liberty Cemetery at Greenwood, Sebastian Co., Ar.
