Joseph "Joe" Merle Gipson, Sr. 1895 - 1966 Joesph "Joe" Merle Gipson, Sr. was born January 17, 1895 at White Oak, Sebastian Co.,, Arkansas to Francis Marion & Luda Louise Wilhite Gipson. December 5, 1920 he married Florence Bumpass, both residents of Greenwood, Sebastian Co., Ar. Joe served in the US Army with Co. K 23rd Inf as a Pvt. He enlisted May 27, 1918 and served until August 19, 1919. Joe passed away July 7, 1966. His burial was in Dawson Memorial Cemetery in Milltown, Sebastian Co., Ar.
