Charles Lewis Cumbie 1895 - 1989 Charles Lewis Cumbie was born October 30, 1895 in Greenwood, Sebastian Co., Ar. to Nathan G. & Sarah Isabella McClendon Cumbie. October 30, 1922 he married Vera Cleo McConnell at Greenwood, Sebastian Co., Ar. Charles registered for the military draft June 17, 1917 at Cornish, Sebastian Co., Ar. He enlisted in the US Army July 5, 1918 and served until February 5, 1919. Charles passed away April 22, 1989 at Crawford Co., Arkansas. His burial was in Liberty Cemetery, Greenwood, Sebastian Co., Ar.
