James Edward Wagner was born December 16, 1929 at Lavaca, Sebastian
Co., Ar. to Claris DeValson & Levonia Saphronia Howes Wagner.
February 4, 1949 he married Frances Alice Morgan from
Charleston, Franklin Co., Ar. His residence was still Lavaca, Ar.
No dates have been found for his service in the US Army. He served in the Korean
War and later in the Army National Guard. His final rank was Major.
James passed away February 23, 2014 at Fort Smith, Sebastian
Co., Ar. His burial was in the Fort Smith National Cemetry.

James E. Wagner, 84, of Fort Smith, Arkansas passed away on Sunday, February 23, 2014 in a local hospital.
He was born in Lavaca, Arkansas to Clarence and Levonia (Hames) Wagner.
He was a retired sales and manufacturing representative for the furniture industry and was a former employee of Hopkins Furniture. He was a. U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War and retired Major in the Arkansas Army National Guard. He was a member of Eastside Baptist Church and attended Community Bible Church. He was a member and past president of the Fort Smith Sertoma Club, a member of the American Legion Ellig Stouffer Post 81 and a former volunteer at the Veterans Administration Clinic for over 12 years.
He was preceded in death by his wife Frances and one son Rick Wagner.
Graveside services with full military honors will be at 11:00AM Thursday, February 27, 2014 at the U.S. National Cemetery in Fort Smith under the direction of Ocker-Putman Funeral Home of Fort Smith, Arkansas.
He is survived by his two daughters, Cindy Peevy and her husband Garry of Fort Smith, Arkansas and Kelli Stewart of Charleston, Arkansas; five sons, Randy and his wife Olivette of Spavinaw, Arkansas, Mark Wagner and his wife Connie of Barling, Arkansas, Shawn Wagner and his wife Nicole of Lincoln, California, Shane Wagner and his wife Jennifer of Fort Smith, Arkansas and Gunter Wagner of Fort Smith, Arkansas; eleven grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
