Joe T. Ulmer 1930 - 2007
Joe T. Ulmer was born July 29, 1930 at Greenwood, Sebastian Co., Ar. to
Albert E "Browny" & Minnie Bell Been Ulmer. April 10, 1953 he
married Jacqueline Pierce both being residents of
Fort Smith, Sebastian Co., Ar. at that time.
September 10, 1949 Joe registered at the Court Houss in
Fort Smith, Ar. for the Selective Service. At that
time he was living in Detroit, Michigan. He enlisted in the
US Army July 29, 1930 and served until January 2, 1953.
Joe passed away June 30, 2007 at Greenwood, Sebastian Co., Ar.
His burial was in Oak Valley Cemetery at Lavaca, Sebastian Co., Ar.

Joe T. Ulmer, 76, passed away Saturday, June 30, 2007, at his home in Greenwood. Mr. Ulmer was a member
of Mount Zion Baptist Church and Greenwood Masonic Lodge No. 131. He was a retired truck driver and a member
of the Teamster's Union, Local No. 373, and did volunteer work with the Sebastian County Literacy Council in Greenwood and the Fort Smith Clearinghouse. He was an Army veteran of the Korean Conflict.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, July 3, 2007, at the Mount Zion Baptist Church with interment at Oak Valley Cemetery under the direction of McConnell Funeral Home in Greenwood.
Survivors include his wife, Mary of the home; a son, Steve Ulmer of Waldron; a daughter, Lissa Ulmer Macklin of Greenwood; a stepdaughter, Kimberly Christensen and her husband, Phil, of Hackett; a sister, Alverne Stanfill of Fort Smith; five grandchildren, Stephen Ulmer, Allan and Madison Macklin and Josh and Jordan Christensen; and a great-grandson, Logan Ulmer.
