Billy Joe Martin 1928 - 2007 Billy Joe Martin was born August 26, 1928 in Dayton, Sebastian Co., Ar. to Loyd and Eula Beecham Martin. Billy Joe registered for the military draft August 26, 1946. He enlisted in the US Air Force September 18, 1950 and served until September 17, 1954. He again enlisted November 21, 1956 and served until August 22, 1960. His final rank was SSgt. Billy Joe passed away October 11, 2007 with his burial being at Dawson Memorial Cemetery in Milltown, Sebastian Co., Ar. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Billy Joe Martin, 79, Stockton, died Oct. 11, 2007, at his home. He was born Aug. 26, 1928, in Harmony, Ark., the son of Loyd and Eula (Beecham) Martin. Mr. Martin was a veteran of the United States Air Force and a member of the VFW. Surviving are his wife, Johnie Martin, of the home; a son, Rusty Martin and his wife, Sue, Harrisonville; three sisters, Betty South, Ann Williams and husband, Don, and Due McGee, all of Greenwood, Ark.; a brother, Sam Martin and wife, Judy, Greenwood; and a grandson, Josh Martin, Fort Myers, Fla. Casket bearers were Rusty Martin, Josh Martin, Ivan Thompson, Don McGee, Jennifer Organ and Sherry Corbin. A graveside service and burial were Oct. 15 at the Dawson Cemetery in Milltown, Ark., under the direction of the McConnell Funeral Home of Greenwood.
