Cpl. David Anthony Kiene <1923 - 1950 Cpl. David Anthony Kiene, born 23 Sep 1923, was the son of Carl Schutz Kiene and Mary Zanona Kiene He was living in Fort Smith, AR when he enlisted. (below from Rebecca Mitchener) Corporal Kiene was a member of Company D, 2nd Battalion, 5th Marines, 1st Marine Division. He was Killed in Action while fighting the enemy house to house in Korea on September 24, 1950. Corporal Kiene was awarded the Purple Heart.
