He was born November 30, 1932 in Tulsa, OK to the late Charles Freeman Bateman and Anna Hottel Bateman. Harold was retired from ABF, and was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church and the American Legion. He was a veteran of the US Army serving during the Korean War and he was an avid golfer and was a former minor league baseball player. He was preceded in death by his son, Darryl Bateman; his daughter, Patti Bateman; and his brother, Ronald Bateman. Harold was a loving husband and is survived by his wife of 62 years, Jo Bateman; a loving father to his daughter, Cheryl Price of Mansfield, TX and his son, Steve Bateman of Uniontown, AR; and a loving grandfather to his six grandchildren, Allie and Garrett Price, Stephen and David Bateman, Kevin Newton, and Clinton Johnson. Funeral Service will be 10:00 AM Monday, December 22, 2014, at Wesley United Methodist Church with burial in Woodlawn Memorial Park, under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.
