According to the deeds the land for the Huntington Methodist Church was acquired in 1894. The First Methodist Church was built in the mid 1890s. The church was remodeled and enlarged in 1932 and in 1954 a fellowship hall was built on the south side of the church building. The bell tower in front was donated by Jim & Leno Hollister in memory of their mother, Florence Hollister Cummings, their step–father Walter P. Cummings, and their sister Betty Hollister Davis. Some pastors who have served this congregation include Reverends Kleeb, Millard, and Edgington. Board members [at the time of this original article] of this church are Jim and Pauline Harrison, Ralph King, Vicki Cotner Chronister, Donnie Adkins and Curtis Feimster. Area residents who attend the Huntington Methodist Church are the Hollisters, Kings, Harrisons, Hunters, and Farris Keisman-one of the oldest members who now resides in the Pink Bud Nursing Home at Greenwood, Arkansas.
