Dr. Robert Lee Rye
1871-1914

Robert Lee Rye, Sr.was born May 8, 1871 in Marion township of Sebastian County Arkansas to William Thomas and Elizabeth Bunch Rye, their 6th child. In 1897 Robert attended The University of Louisville School of Medicine, Louisville. In 1900 he was living in Fort Smith with his parents William and Elizabeth, and was a practising physician. In 1910 he is in Wagoner, Porter, Okalhoma with his parents and sister. In 1913 his mother died and was taken back to Sebastian County to be buried in Oak Cemetery. Oct 13, 1904 Dr Rye married Mary Alma Choate, daughter of Sanders and Eliza Childers Choate in Sallisaw, Craig, Oklahoma. But sadly he passed away on Dec 4, 1914 in Porter Oklahoma and was taken to Ft Smith where he was born to be buried in Oak Cemetery.
