Dr. Shelby Leon Hicks was born September 13, 1920 in Pangburn, White Co., Ar. to
Shelby Lennox & Stella Beatrice Henderson Hicks.
April 6, 1945 he married Lucie Mae Lindsey in Pasadena, California.
Shelby registered for the military draft April 2, 1945 at Escondido,
California although it shows his Local Board is in White Co., Arkansas. This must
be another registrarion card as he enlisted in the US Navy September 26, 1939
and served until March 30, 1945. His rank was.Chief Pharmacist's Mate.
In 1945 he and wife Luci are listed in the Little Rock Ar. City
Directory. He is a medical student there. The same on the 1950 census
record.
August 30, 1992 Dr. Shelby Leon Hicks passed away at Louisville,
Jefferson County, Kentucky. His burial was at Port Royal Cemetery,
Port Royal, Henry County, Kentucky.

Shelby Leon Hicks was born September 13, 1921 in Pangburn, White County, Arkansas.
He graduated from Bald Knob, Arkansas, High School in 1939 and attended the University
of Arkansas where he received a B.S.M. degree, and an M.D. degree from the University of
Arkansas School of Medicine June 11, 1951. He was certified by the Arkansas State Medical
Board August 1, 1951, and recorded this certification in Sebastian County, Greenwood
District, July 8, 1952m but we find no record that he ever actually practiced in Greenwood.
