Dr. Elijah Lynch Hesterly
1843-1915

Dr. Elijah Lynch Hesterly was born Coweta County, Georgia 14 May 1843. He was the son of Preston Hampton Hesterly, 1809-1885 and Harriet Brown Summers Hesterly 1821-1883. He married 1st Mary V. Weeks in 1867 in Choctow, Mississippi. After her death he married Mary Maria Pittman on 25 Jun 1885. He was practising medicine in 1880 in Troup County, Georgia. He attended Emory U. School of Medicine, Atlanta; Atlanta Medical College. In 1891 he was practising medicine in Hackett, Ar. In 1915 he died in Greenwood, Sebastian County, Arkansas and is buried there. His son Dr. Elijah Hampton Hesterly followed in his fathers foot steps as to his career.
