Dr. Buchannan Hatchett

Find A Grave - Dr. Buchanan Hatchett was born c1857 in Alabama to George W and Henrietta Synder Hatchett He was a graduate of Vanderbilt University of 1882, and the University of Louisiana in 1885. According to the Fort Smith City Directory of 1898, he lived and practiced medicine in the area. He was a member of the Sebastian County Medical Society, The Arkansas State Medical Society, the Indian Territory Medical Society and The Association of Ry. Surgeons. He was also a medical examiner for Equitable Travelers Prov. Savings and other insurance companies. He served as president for the Sebastian County Medical Society in 1891 and again in 1904. Dr. Hatchett moved to California because of poor health and died there in 1930. He left most of his estate to the medical institution in Arkansas an in Fort Smith, Arkansas. His passport application in 1888 describes him as Age 31 Height 6ft, forehead High, Eyes Blue, Nose Stright, Moutn Broad, Chin, Heavy, Hair Lightl Brown, Complexion Fair, Face, Full.
