Charles B. Gannaway, Fort Smith, was examined by the Sebastian Co. Examining Board May 13, 1895, and recorded his license in Sebastian Counnty July 12, 1895. He joined the Sebastian County Medical Society in 1898, and was listed in the Fort Smith city Directory 1897-1898. No further listing was found.

Charles B. Gannaway is age 1 on the 1860 census of Bedford County Tennessee. From later information his birth was August 1858. His father Burrell Z. Gannaway age 29 was born in Tennessee as was Charles' mother Martha Jane Baldwin who was 28 years old. In 1860 Charles B. is their only child at that time. Martha Jane was the daughter of Merchant and Margaret Smith Baldwin

In 1870 the family was living in Simpson county, Kentucky and Charles had four younger siblings. Father Burrell Gannaway is a photographer. According to their children's place of birth they were in Georgia in 1863 and Kentucky by 1865. In 1878 Charles is listed as a student at Vanderbilt University. Martha Jane Baldwin Gannaway died in 1871 and July 10, 1873 Burrell married Rebecca E. Baldwin. In 1880 the family is living in Fort Smith Arkansas. Charles is 21 and shows his occupation as a Druggist. He is still living with the family.

On February 14, 1900 Charles Burrell Gannaway married Harriet Adeline Banks from Pulaski County, Arkansas, daughter of Madison Critz and Maggie F. Drake Banks. Hattie was born in 1872, Arkansas. In 1900 Charles and Hattie are making their home in Fort Smith, rooming with the Boyd family. Charles profession is still a druggist.

In 1910 Charles is a Druggist And Physician in Chickasaw, Grady Oklahoma. 1920 census shows Charles and Hattie living in Dardanelle, Yell County, Arkansas with 3 children, age 19, Charles B. age 17 and Margret F. 14. Also living in the household is Maggie Banks, mother of Hattie. Charles is an eye doctor, specialist. Their oldest daughter Louise is teaching at a music school. 1929 Charles and Hattie are listed in the Monroe, Louisiana city directory. 1930 Charles and Hattie are still living in Monroe, Ouachita, Louisiana. He is a general practice Physician.

July 1932 Charles Burrell Gannaway died in Muskogee, Oklahoma and is buried at Oak Cemetery in Fort Smith, Arkansas. His wife, Harriett Adeline Banks Gannaway died Mar 2, 1960 in Pine Bluff, Jefferson County, Arkansas and is buried at Little Rock, Pulaski County, Arkansas.
