He attended Omaha Central High School; and Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska. Dr. Faier graduated from Creighton Meidcal Medical School in 1929 and did his internship at Sinai Hospital, in Baltimore, Maryland. He served a residency at Washington University Medical Center in St. Louis, Missouri, between 1930 and 1933. Dr. Faier did his Optholmology in the Army Medical Corps from 1942 to 1946. He married Margot Stein (born in Germany). The couple had two daughters: Susan Gail Faier and Sandra Lynn Faier. Dr. Faier's memberships included: the Sebastian County Meidcal Society; the Arkansas Medical Society; AMA; American Academy of Opthalmology and Otorhinolarygology; the American Trilogical Society; the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery; and the United Hebrew Congregation of Fort Smith, Arkansas. He was a Board certified in Opthalmology(1939) and Otorhinolaryngology (1934) and he had published numerous medical papers in the Annals of Otology, Rhinology, and Laryngology. (11/13/2020 additional notes) Dr. Faier's father Sam, was a retail jewelry merchant in Nebraska, born in Romania in 1876. Like wise his mother Libbey was born in Romania abt 1877. They imigrated to the United States in 1901. They are both buried in Omaha, Nebraska, Pleasant Hills Cemetery. Their children were: Etta, Sara, Matilda, Samuel Z, & Herman Irwin, Esther Etta In 1939 Samuel Z. is found in Ohama, Nebraska as an instr at UofN. In 1948 his father and mother are found in Omaha also. Dr. Sam Faier is found listed on the Jewish Welfare Board, War Correspondence along with Abe D, & Herman Faier, Abe being a dentist and Herman being a younger brother to Sameul Z. Sam the father was born 1876 and died Dec 26, 1958 buried at Pleas Hills Omaha, Nebraska. His mother Libbey born 1874 and died Nov 1, 1955 in Omaha Nebraka
