Dr. Jay B. Ellis
Dr. Jay B. Ellis was born in Illinois May 1853 to John Wood and Clarissa W. Green Ellis.
The parents were married July 25, 1849 in Lake, Illinois.
The father died Feb 15, 1917 in Elkhart County, Indiana. His parents were Jacob and Catherine Ellis.

and St. Joseph Counties, Indiana. He is a direct descendent of the Ellis family that landed at Plymouth
Rock.
In the biography we are told that John Wood was married in Lake county, Ill., to Clarissa W. Green, who was
born in Bristol, Vermont, September 22, 1831, a daughter of Isaiah and Mary Gage Green.
They are the parents of five children, Jay B., being the second child. It goes on to say "His son,
Jay B. Ellis, graduated from the Hahnemann Homoeopathic School of Physicians and Surgeons, of Chicago,
and is engaged in the practice of his profession. Another son of John Wood's is also a practicing physcian at Eureka Springs, Ark.
Dr Jay B. Ellis was married to Antonette "Nettie" R. Hall on May 26, 1875. "Nettie" was
born in Michigan and was the daughter of John F. and Susan Hall.
March 1, 1897 in Minneapolis, Minnesota Dr. Ellis married Jennie A. Staniford McWeir.
In 1900 Dr Jay B. Ellis and family are found in Fort Smith, Arkansas with children Helen
age 16 born in Indiana, and son John age 12 born in South Dakota. By 1910 they are living in Cochise, Arizona.
