APPLICATION FOR CONFEDERATE PENSION
State of Arkansas,
County of Scott.
To the Honorable County Court of Scott County:
The undersigned applicant for pension under an act of the General Assembly of the State of Arkansas, approved April 1, 1891, and amendments thereto, being duly sworn according to law,
states that he is the identical person who enlisted and was enrolled on the [blank] day of [blank] 1862, in Co. "B" of the 32nd Regt. Miss. Vols., commanded by Capt. Nelson, in the
servics of the Confederate States of America, or the State of Arkansas. That while a member of said Company and Regiment in said service, and in the line of his duty at or near
Springfield and near Columbia, Tenn. on or about the [blank] day of [blank] 1864, he received a wound in the left shoulder caused he supposes from the explosion of a shell from the
ranks of the enemy - the ball striking left shoulder just over shoulder joint. That by reason of said wound he lost partially the use of his left arm - being unable to perform any
hard labor requiring the proper use of the left arm - and is and has been so disabled during the whole tim since said wound was received, and affiant is now in indigent circumstances,
without means of support, and is partially incapacitated for manual labor. That he is a bona fide citizen of the State of Arkansas, and has resided in said State for more than twelve
months immediately preceeding this application. That he is not receiving aid from the State of Arkansas, from the United States, nor from any other State, for injuries received in the
war between the States under any Statute providing for the relief of the maimed and [illegible] soldiers of the States.

We, E.D. Yandell, Judge of the County Court of Scott County, L.P. Fuller, Sheriff, and T.M. Duncan, Clerk, sitting as a Pension Board for Scott County, do certify that we have
examined the application of the within named Benjamin P. Stricklin for pension, under act of the General Assembly of the State of Arkansas, as approved April 1, 1891, and the proof
in support of same, and find that said applicant is a wounded Confederate soldier, is in indigent circumstancs and partially incapacitated for manual labor, and that his claim is
just, and that he should be allowed a pension of $30.

On this day personally came before the undersigned Clerk Circuit Court within and for the County of Scott and State of Arkansas M.R. Dedmon a citizen of Waldron, Scott Co., Ark., whom
I certify to be credible persons and worthy of confidence, who being duly sworn, state that he is personally well acquainted with the applicant Benjamin P. Stricklin and has known him
23 years.
That the material facts set forth in his application for pension are true. That he was a Confederate soldier. Belonged to Company "B" 32nd Regiment of Miss. Vols. That he was wounded
in said service at or near Columbia, Tenn. in left shoulder.
That this information I derive from the following sources: from being and [faded and illegible] with soldier and having often heard him talk about his army service [remainder of
handwritten statement is faded and illegible]
That he is partically incapacitated for manual labor, and that I have no interest in this claim.

On this day personally came before the undersigned a Clerk Circuit Court within and for the County of Scott and State of Arkansas, John C. Kemp a citizen of Winfield, Scott Co.,
Ark., whom I certify to be a credible person and worthy of confidence, who being duly sworn, states that he is personally well acquainted with the applicant Benjamin P. Stricklin and
has known him for 40 years or [illegible].
That the material facts set forth in his application for pension are true. That he was a Confederate soldier. Belonged to Company "B" 32nd Regiment of Miss. Vols. That he was wounded
in said service at or near Columbia, Tenn. in left shoulder.
That this information I derive from the following sources: from being an intimate acquaintance with soldier and was in the service with him at the time he was wounded [remainder of handwritten statement is faded and illegible.]
That he is partially incapacitated for manual labor, and that I have no interest in this claim.

EVIDENCE OF PHYSICIAN
STATE OF ARKANSAS}
County of Scott}
I Cheves Bevill a duly registered and practicing physician in Scott County, Arkansas, do hereby certify that I am personally well acquainted with Benjamin P. Stricklin of Blansett,
Ark. Arkansas, who is an applicant for a pension under the Statutes of Arkansas.
That at his request I have made an examination of his wound and find: State description and character of wound, as follows: A gun shot wound of the left [illegible] busted the
anterior half, or nearly so, of the bone off, causing a weakening of the arm.
Physical condition and to what cause is his incapacity for manual labor attributable, Owing to the weakened condition of the arm, both bone and muscle.
Financial condition, Pays taxes on twelve hundred dollars $1200.00 worth of property, real and personal.
Means of support, Only by farming, and no one to work but himself. Rents bring in but a very little.
Extent of disability, One third, at least I believe, owing, as before stated, to weakened condition of the bone and muscles.
