VISITING A CEMETERY WHILE HERE?
There are approximately 120 identified cemeteries in Scott County, ranging in size from the larger, currently maintained cemeteries to small family burial sites. Tombstones at all these cemeteries have been copied and published in a book, Scott County Cemeteries, by Wanda N. Gray which is available for your use at the historical society and at the public library. You will probably save time by checking the index to this book to see if the grave you are seeking has been located and the name of the cemetery. Most local people can give you directions to many of these cemeteries.
