REV. AND MRS. J.N. PENNINGTON
Pictured above are Rev. and Mrs. J.N. Pennington. John Nicolos was the son of Rev. Q.C. Pennington and a brother to my grandmother, Sedalia (Pennington) Pointer. Rev. J.N. Pennington was a pastor at the Ione Baptist Church in present day Logan County. Ione was formerly in Scott County. Rev. Q.C. Pennington preached at the Linwood Baptist Church, which I believe may have been in Marion County, Arkansas. My great-grandfather, Fleming Benjamin Pointer (sometimes called Flemon or Flemm) lived in Logan County near the crossroads of what is now Flat Rock Road and Dry Creek Road. Rev. Q.C. Pennington came to visit his son Rev. J.N. Pennington in Logan County and brought his family along, one of whom was my grandmother Sedalia Pennington. Grandma met the Flemm Pointer family, one of whom was John Galloway Pointer and they later married. My grandparents moved to Indian Territory in 1904. Does anyone have a photograph of Fleming Pointer? If anyone is researching or has any information about the Pointer or Pennington family, please contact Dennis Pointer.
