John Andrew McClain was born 9 January 1875 in Scott County, son of John W. McClain and Mary Herrin. John Andrew was married 2nd to Ida Cost on 28 December 1905. She was born 4 February 1883 at Bluffton, Arkansas and died 12 November 1954 at Poteau, LeFlore County, Oklahoma. John died 2 December 1954 at the same place. Pictured with John and Ida above are four of their children (left to right): Elvida, Glen Andrew, baby Pauline and Eloise McClain. Pauline was born around 1919, so this picture was probably made about that time. The 1930 census lists a six year old son, John McClain, Jr., born about 1924.
