Pictured above is Leonard Aaron Lovett. This picture was taken around 1942 shortly after his six weeks training before he shipped out overseas to serve in WWII. The picture below was taken while he was in WWII in Italy around 1944. He looks a little thin as they were living on sea rations. My father, Leonard Aaron was born Feb 19, 1922, the 4th son of Alfred Oscar Miles and Bertha (Roseberry) Lovett. On July 4, 1942 Leonard married Dorthy Mae Pearl Walker. In Oct. 1942 he was drafted into WWII. He was gone for over 3 years and came back whole and fit, thank God. In 9 months they had their first of 4 children, George Alfred in 1946, then Edward Lee in 1948 and Linda Jean in 1951. Leonard graduated from high school after the war when Linda was a baby. Hubert Aaron was born in 1953, (died at birth). Dad died on June 26, 1980 at the age of 58. Dorthy is still active in her community in California.
