HUGHES OR BUFFINGTON CEMETERY
SCOTT COUNTY, ARKANSAS

The Hughes-Buffington Cemetery is located 3/4 miles due East of the Old Taylor Cemetery (T4N, R28W, Sec.10, NWNW) on a ridge just North of the Little Petit Jean Creek on the West 40 acres of the William K. Hughes homestead, that today is part of the National Forest. It contains 14 graves. It is not fenced and has not been maintained in the last 50 years.

1. Concrete marker, Charles Andrew Scroggin, born 1901, died November 30, 1902.
2. Sandstone marker with inscription and rock wall around grave, Wanneeta Fain, born August 24, 1902, Holy Bible book divine, Precious Treasure thou art mine.
3. Concrete marker, E.W. Scroggin, born Feb. 4, 1869, died Dec. 4, 1902.
4. Sandstone marker, believed to be child of William K. Hughes.
5. Sandstone marker, believed to be child of William K. Hughes.
6. Sandstone marker, believed to be child of William K. Hughes.
