Pictured above is Ernest Holland, who was born 16 August 1879 in Waldron, Scott County, Arkansas and died 22 May 1966 at the age of 86. Ernest was a school teacher, specializing in mathematics, in the Waldron schools for many years. He also served as Scott County Treasurer from 1912 - 1916 and again from 1939 - 1946.

Ernest was the son of Francis H. Holland and Frances Evalena Chiles, the daughter of Judge Roland Chiles of Scott County.

On 25 June 1902 Ernest married Electa May Croy. They had 5 children together: Dexter, Clarence, Eschel, Lora and Lucille. Electa May died 22 January 1919 from the influenza epidemic. In 1920, Ernest married Zella Johnson. They had one child, Ernestyne.

Ernest Holland was the great-grandfather of Terri Jordan who submitted the photograph and information about his life.
