JOHNATHAN HAMILTON FAMILY

Pictured above is the family of Johnathan Hamilton. Johnathan is pictured at the left and was a son of Thomas Hamilton and Charlotte Rogers Hamilton. Also in the photo is Johnathan's wife Mary Emilene Payne Hamilton and children Henry, Velma, Berta, Jesse, Vide. Ivy is the baby in the blanket. The tall boy in back is a nephew. The man on the right is Thomas Hamilton, son of Thomas Hamilton and Mary Blair Hamilton.

The Thomas Hamilton and Mary Blair family is found on the 1840 census in Saline Co., Illinois on page 53 next to Thomas Hamilton, Revolutionary pensioner, age 84. The younger Thomas pictured above is in the 1850 Scott Co., AR census in Hickman Township at Dwelling #7/7 with his parents:

Thomas Hamilton, born about 1799, married Mary "Polly" Blair on 14 July 1823 in Sumner Co., TN. Thomas served in the War of 1812. He volunteered in Sumner Co. on 1 September 1814 and was discharged in April 1815. He stated in his pension records that his house burned on 6 March 1833 in Jefferson Co., AR. Thomas died in Scott Co., AR 19 December 1857. Mary stated in her pension application that they had the following children:
