We, James M. Harvey, Judge of the County Court, and L.P. Fuller, Sheriff, and Thomas M. Duncan, County Clerk of Scott County, consituting the Pension Board of said County, by an
Act of the General Assembly of the State of Arkansas, approved April 1, 1891, entitled "An Act for the Relief of Certain Soldiers of the Late War Between the States," do hereby
certify to the Auditor of the State of Arkansas, that upon due examination of the application of John B. Easter filed under said Act, we find that said claim of said applicant is just
and the same is hereby allowed, the application and proof taken in said case being herewith transmitted.
Given under our hands and the Seal of the County Court of Scott County, on this 25th day of Sept., 1891.

On this 25th day of Sept. 1891, John B. Easter an ex Confederate soldier of Co. "B" of Hardy's or 19th Reg't. Ark. Infty. Vols. personally appeared before the undersigned Clerk of
the Circuit Court, and being first duly sworn testifies as follows: That his age is 53 years. That he is the identical person sho served in the aforesaid company and regiment, that
he has forgotten the number of the Regiment but believes it was the 19th Reg't. That while in the discharge of his duty as a soldier in said Company and Regiment at Jenkin's Ferry,
near Camden, Ark. and as well as he can recollect about the year 1863, he received a gun shot wound in his left leg from the effects of which he has been disabled for manual labor
during the whole time since his return home from said service to the present time. That his leg often gets sore and gives him great pain compelling him to resort to crutches and
rending him unable to do any work and causing sleepless nights. That he also contracted disease of measles while in said service which resulted in disease and weakness of lungs and
spinal effection [sic: afliction] which also frequently disables him for any kind of work.

Affidavit

In matter of Pension Claim of John B. Easter, ex Confederate soldier of Co. "B" of Hardy's or 19th Reg't. of Ark. Infty. Vols. On this 25th day of Sept. 1891 personally appeared
before the undersigned Clerk of the Circuit Court, Dr. J.D. Cox who being duly sworn in regard to the aforesaid claim testifies as follows:
That his age is 30 years. That he is a regular practicing physician. That he has been acquainted with the above named soldier for upwards of one year. That about the months of January
1891 he was called to attend said soldier and found him suffering with rheumatism in left leg and hip which appeared to be caused from a wound in his left leg which he said was giving
him great pain at the time. And for several days said soldier was compelled to use crutches on account of said rheumatism and wound. Soldier has also told me that he is a sufferer
from spinal affection and hemorrhage of lungs caused from relapse of measles contracted in the aforesaid service, and has also told me that his wound was received in said service, and his
manner and appearance indicates the truth of his statements. Affiant further states that he has no interest direct or indirect in this claim. Said soldier is incapacitated for
manual labor, and is indigent.

I, Thomas M. Duncan, Clerk of the Circuit Court, and ex-officio County Clerk within and for the county of Scott, in the State of Arkansas, do hereby certify that John W. Herrin
whose genuine signature appears to the above and foregoing and here to attached certificate or juriat is now, and was at the time of the execution of the same a Justice of the Peace
of Scott county, Arkansas, duly elected, commissioned, qualified and acting, and that all his official acts as such are entitled to full faith and credit; and that his commission
was dated on the 30 day of Oct. 1890, and will expire on the 30 day of Oct. 1891.

APPLICATION FOR PENSION

I, John B. Easter, Cedar Creek, Ark. do solemnly swear that I served as a soldier in the army of the Confederate States, being a member of Company "B" commanded by Capt. Woo, in Col.
Hardy's 19th Regiment of Infantry Vols. from the State of Arkansas; that I was honorably released from such service at Shrevesport, La. on or about the [blank] day of May, 1865,
and did not desert the same; that I am now, and for the past twelve months have been, a bona fide resident of this State; that I do not myself, I being now a widower, own property,
real or personal, or both, or money or choses in action in excess of the value of $400.00 (exclusive of household goods and wearing apparel), nor have I conveyed title to any
property to enable me to draw a pension, and that I am not in receipt of any income, annuity, pension or wages for any services, the emoluments of an office, in excess of $150.00
per year; that I am incapacitated to perform manual labor in any of the ordinary avocations of life, and that such incapacity (or disability) is the result of wounds received in the
service, being gun shot wound in left leg, which wound incapacitates me from manual labor, and because of disease of rheumatism, which also disables me, and from advanced age, my
age now being 63 years, and consequent debilitated physical condition, and that such disability is not the result of my own vicious habits still persisted in, so help me God.

1865. That he was honorably released from such service, and did not desert the same. That he is incapacitated for manual labor by reason of gun shot wound and from advanced age,

EVIDENCE OF PHYSICIAN

I, L.K. Robertson, a duly registered and practicing physician in Scott County, Arkansas, do hereby certify that I am personally well acquainted with John B. Easter of Cedar Creek,
Arkansas, who is an applicant for a pension under the Statutes of Arkansas.
That at his request I have made an examination of his physical condition and find: State description and character of wound or disability: Gunshot wound of left leg in middle
third of Tibia & passing under that bone and lodging in muscles in region of fibula.
Physical condition and to what cause is his incapacity for manual labor attributable: Articular Rheumatism affecting the joins of shoulder, elbow joint. Phalangies stiffening
these joints disabling him from labor. and that said disability is not the result of his own vicious habits still persisted in.
Extent of disability 2/3

That he was a Confederate soldier. Belonging to Company "B" 19th Regiment of Ark. Infty. Vols. That as such soldier he served from '62 to close of war in spring of 1865. That he
was honorably released from such service, and did not desert the same. That he is now and has been for the past twelve months a bona fide resident of Arkansas. That he is incapacitated
for manual labor by reason of old age and consequent poor health and that such incapacity (or disability) is not the result of his own vicious habits still persisted in. That to the
best of our knowledge, information and belief, all property now owned by him, he being a widower, is not worth exceeding $400 (exclusive of household goods and wearing apparel.) That
he is not in receipt of any income, annuity, pension or wages for any services, or the emoluments of an office, in excess of $150 per year. That I have no interest in this claim.
That I know soldier served as claimed because I belonged to same regiment.

That he was a Confederate soldier. Belonging to Company "B" 19th Regiment of Ark. Infty. Vols. That as such soldier he served from May 1861 to close of war in spring of 1865. That
he was honorably released from such service, and did not desert the same. That he is now and has been for the past twelve months a bona fide resident of Arkansas. That he is
incapacitated for manual labor by reason of old age and that such incapacity (or disability) is not the result of his own vicious habits still persisted in. That I have no interest
in this claim. That I served in same Company and Regiment with soldier.

him for 15 years, respectively. That he is now and has been for the past twelve months a bona fide resident of Arkansas. That he is incapacitated for manual labor by reason of old
age and poor health, and that such incapacity (or disability) is not the result of his own vicious habits still persisted in. That to the best of our knowledge, all property now
owned by him, he being a widower, is not worth exceeding $400 (exclusive of household goods and wearing apparel.) That he is not in receipt of any income, annuity, pension or
wages for any services, or the emoluments of an office, in excess of $150 per year. That we have no interest in this claim.
