PACKSADDLE CEMETERY
Scott County, Arkansas

Go North from Waldron on Highway 71 about 7 miles to the Packsaddle community. Turn left on Packsaddle Road and go a short distance to the first dirt road on the right. It appears to be a driveway leading to a home but go on past the home and the road curves to the left. Where the road appears to dead-end, turn right and the cemetery is only a very short distance. The road appears to run through the middle of the cemetery, but actually does not. Descendants state the road ends here, but a power line runs through the middle of the cemetery. Cemetery is overgrown with briers. Surveyed and digital photographs of the tombstones made on February 26, 2004 by Bob & Delaine Edwards. If you would like a copy of the photograph of your ancestor's tombstone, please contact Delaine Edwards and it will be sent via E-mail. Please put "Packsaddle Cemetery Photo" as the subject of your message.

Note: Elizabeth's stone is in an abandoned cemetery a few miles away. See "Metcalf Grave" in the listing of cemeteries for a photo of her stone.

The following partial stone was found:
“Died 29 Oct 1887”

Another stone was found on the ground which we were unable to read. Both these stones are in the area where the Stewart tombstones are located.

The following stones listed in a 1987 survey of the cemetery were not found. We very easily may have missed these as the area is very overgrown with briers, small trees, etc.
