LYONS CEMETERY
Scott County, Arkansas

From Waldron go south on Highway 71 to Y-City. Turn left on Highway 270 and go approximately 8 miles to Lyons Cemetery Road. Turn left (dirt road) and when the road forks, stay left. The cemetery is .8 of a mile and the road deadends there. Surveyed and digital photographs taken 5 Februay 2005 by Delaine, Bob & David Edwards. If you would like a copy of the photograph of your ancestor's tombstone, please contact Carolyn Hanna and it will be sent via E-mail. Please put "Lyons Cemetery Photo" as the subject of your message.

This cemetery had been long abandoned and was in very bad shape and in danger of being reclaimed by the forest. A few years ago, Mr. Cleo Tucker of Mena, Arkansas spent many, many days working at getting it back into shape. He passed away 18 August 2002 and the cemetery is at this time still in very good condition. In addition to the tombstones we photographed, there are between 30 and 50 graves marked only with fieldstones.
