LILLIE BERAN AT CEDAR GROVE CHURCH
This photo was found in the barn of "Veranda Heights," which was the
home of Frances (Miller) [a.k.a. Miss Francie or Miss Frances] and
Johnie Hanes, located at the top of Boothe Hill. Miss Frances was
very involved in serving the Cedar Grove Missionary Baptist Church at
Boothe Hill and I believe this is a photo with the third Cedar Grove
Missionary Baptist Church, 1906-1936, in the background. Miss Frances
wrote "Lillie Beran (church house in back)" on the backside of the
photograph. This photo is of an historical place as well as a Scott
County ancestor. I am interested in learning more about the families
that lived at and around Boothe during this time period, 1900-1930.
