From a special section of the Waldron News newspaper of 23 April 1981, consisting of interviews of Scott County citizens 80 Years of age and over. The interviews were done as part of a celebration of the Bank of Waldron's 80th anniversary.

WILSON LEWIS

Wilson Lewis, age 97, was born in Scott County around Mansfield, Arkansas on March 1, 1884 to C.R. and Emmie (Norris) Lewis. He has lived in Scott County all of his life, except for three years he lived in Mena, and three years he was in California on defense work; however, he retained his home and Arkansas Residence. Mr. Lewis is a member of the First Baptist Church in Waldron, Arkansas. Mr. Lewis worked in saw mills and as a cotton gin operator up to 1941. He has two children, Glenna Barlow of San Diego, California and Freda Rice of Waldron. Mr. Lewis states that he is thankful for business cooperation and for many friends in Scott County, and he is proud and thankful for a long life, and he says even at 97, life is worth living.
