From a special section of the Waldron News newspaper of 23 April 1981, consisting of interviews of Scott County citizens 80 Years of age and over. The interviews were done as part of a celebration of the Bank of Waldron's 80th anniversary.

MYRTLE EPPLER

Myrtle Wheeler Eppler, age 88, was born 3 miles East of the Alabama border on August 1, 1891 to Hiram and Alice Wheeler. She lived there until she was 12 years old, at which time she moved to Waldron. Myrtle met her husband, Jess Eppler, in Waldron and they were married June 1, 1910. They moved to Oklahoma and lived for 2 years, then moved back to Scott County where they made their home from that time on. Her husband is now deceased and Myrtle resides at Pinewood Nursing Home. She stated that they had lived in Greenridge, Cardiff (where she attended school) and Waldron. Myrtle is a Methodist and her husband was a farmer and also did some barbering. Myrtle and Jess have on daughter, Ayline Farnsworth who resides at Booneville, Arkansas.
