From a special section of the Waldron News newspaper of 23 April 1981, consisting of interviews of Scott County citizens 80 Years of age and over. The interviews were done as part of a celebration of the Bank of Waldron's 80th anniversary.

L.K. & MARIAN McCAFFERTY

L.K. and Marian (Holloway) McCafferty, residents of Pinewood Nursing Home for the last four months, were married 66 years ago in 1915. L.K., 90 years of age, was born November 10, 1890 in Scott County to Georgia and Bob McCafferty in the Brush Creek area. He has lived most of his life in Scott County and attended Brush Creek Community School. Marian was born in Missouri on August 1, 1900 to F.M. and Samantha Holloway, she is 80 years of age, and she attended Progress School and was living at Parks before she and L.K. married. Mr. and Mrs. McCaffery have lived in Waldron 22 years, with the exception of a few years they spent in Wichita, Kansas. They have five children - Kenneth McCafferty now deceased, James Kello McCafferty, Jr. of Wichita, Kansas and Barbara Jean Francis of Wichita, Kansas. Mrs. McCafferty has 15 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
