From a special section of the Waldron News newspaper of 23 April 1981, consisting of interviews of Scott County citizens 80 Years of age and over. The interviews were done as part of a celebration of the Bank of Waldron's 80th anniversary.

EVA SPARKS

Eva Sparks, age 81, was born near Mt. Ida, Arkansas on September 17, 1899. Her father was a farmer and she had four brothers and three sisters. Mrs. Sparks made her home near Winfield until she was admitted to Pinewood Nursing Home on January 24, 1978. She had seven children, 3 of which are deceased. Two of her children live in Waldron - Waymon Sparks and Milton Sparks. A daughter, Thelma Phillips of Parks, Arkansas and a son, Melvin Sparks of Texas. Mrs. Sparks is a member of the Baptist Church and for a hobby, she always enjoyed needlework.
