From a special section of the Waldron News newspaper of 23 April 1981, consisting of interviews of Scott County citizens 80 Years of age and over. The interviews were done as part of a celebration of the Bank of Waldron's 80th anniversary.

CLIDE PHELPS

Clide Phelps was admitted to Pinewood Nursing Home on December 5, 1972. Clide (Felts) Phelps was born July 6, 1892 in Gleason, Tennessee where she was raised with her two brothers. Her father was a Baptist Minister and a Banker. Clide married Finis Phelps and later moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin where Mr. Phelps became employed at an automobile manufacturing co. Clide and Finis had only one child, a son, Marvin Phelps of Waldron. Clide is known for her nursing career - she mostly did private duty nursing. She also enjoyed sewing, cooking and needle work. She was also very active in church work.
