From a special section of the Waldron News newspaper of 23 April 1981, consisting of interviews of Scott County citizens 80 Years of age and over. The interviews were done as part of a celebration of the Bank of Waldron's 80th anniversary.

BOB RAGSDALE

Bob Ragsdale was born in Crowell, Texas on October 14, 1899 to John and Molly E. (Ayers) Ragsdale. He is 81 years of age. He is married to Billye Ragsdale and they have lived on North Main Street in Waldron for the past 20 years. They have three children - Robert Paul Ragsdale of Tucson, Ariz., Helen May Morris of St. Louis, Missouri and John Frank Ragsdale of Denver, Colorado. Mr. Ragsdale is retired and attends the First Baptist Church. Prior to his retirement, Mr. Ragsdale was active for many years in promoting the Scott County Rodeo, and Ragsdale Arena, where the rodeo is now held, was named in his honor. He is a long time member of the Waldron Lions Club and the Waldron Area Chamber of Commerce.
