From a special section of the Waldron News newspaper of 23 April 1981, consisting of interviews of Scott County citizens 80 Years of age and over. The interviews were done as part of a celebration of the Bank of Waldron's 80th anniversary.

ALCIE HAYWOOD

Alcie (Collins) Haywood, 83 years of age, was born to Brett and Louisa (Kersey) Collins on March 20, 1896, in Scott County. She has lived in Scott County all her life. She was married to the late J.H. Haywood. She has lived in Coal-Dale, Weeks and Bates communities and taught school in these areas. Mrs. Haywood attended Coal-Dale (&) Weeks grade schools and Tahlaquah Oklahoma Teacher's College. Mrs. Haywood says she has done business with the Bank of Waldron for 75 years and some of the older people at the bank have passed on, but it has always been a very friendly place to do business and feels the Bank of Waldron has been one of the greatest assets in Scott County for many years.
