We, the undersigned, sitting as a Pension Board for Scott County, do certify that we have examined the application of the
within named William J. Bagwell for pension, under Act of General Assembly of the State of Arkansas, as approved March 11,
1901, and the proof in support of same, and find that said applicant is a disabled Confederate soldier, is in indigent
circumstances, and partially incapacitated for manual labor, and that his claim is just, and that he should be allowed
$75.00 pension.

I, William J. Bagwell do solemnly swear that I served as a soldier in the army (or sailor in the navy) of the Confederate
States, being a member of Col. Scott's (Co. I) 12th Regiment of Infantry Vols. from the State of Louisiana; that I was
honorably discharged at Monroe, La. from such service on or about the Spring of the year 1865 or at the close of the war
and did not desert the same; that I am now, and for the past twelve months have been, a bona fide resident of this State;
that I do not myself, nor does my wife, nor do we both together, own property, real or personal, or both, or money or
choses in action in excess of the value of $400.00 (exclusive of household goods and wearing apparel), nor has either of us
conveyed title to any property to enable me to draw a pension, and that neither I nor my wife is in receipt of any income,
annuity, pension or wages for any services, the emoluments of an office, in excess of $150.00 per year; that I am incapacitated to
perform manual labor in any of the ordinary avocations of life, and that such incapacity (or disability) is the result of
old age and consequent debilitated physical condition also disease of fistula - and kidney disease and dimness of eyesight
or of age, accident or disease, and that such disability is not the result of my own vicious habits still persisted in, so
help me God.

On this day personally came before the undersigned, a Clerk Circuit Court within and for the County of Scott and State of
Arkansas, G.V. Scott and B.J.F. Trotter, citizens of Waldron, Scott Co., Ark., whom I certify to be creditable persons and
worthy of confidence, who being duly sworn, state that they are each, personally, well acquainted with applicant for pension
William J. Bagwell, and have known him for 20 and 25 years, respectively.
That he is now and has been for the past twelve months a bona fide resident of Arkansas. That he is incapacitated for manual
labor by reason of old age and resulting debilitated physical condition and that such incapacity (or disability) is not the
result of his own vicious habits still persisted in. That to the best of our knowledge, all property now owned by him and
his wife, together, is not worth exceeding $400 (exclusive of household goods and wearing apparel). That neither he nor his
wife is in receipt of any income, annuity, pension or wages for any services, or the emoluments of an office, in excess of
$150 per year. That we have no interest in this claim.

I, H.J. Hodges, a duly registered and practicing physician in Scott County, Arkansas, do hereby certify that I am personally
well acquainted with William J. Bagwell of Waldron, Arkansas, who is an applicant for a pension under the Statutes of
Arkansas.
That at his request I have made an examination of his physical condition, and find: State description and character of
disease or disability: He is afflicted with fistula in ano, nasal catarah and partial blindness.
Physical condition and to what cause is his incapacity for manual labor attributable
His incapacity for manual labor is due (to) the diseases above mentioned and that said disability is not the result of his
own vicious habits still persisted in.
Extent of disability Three fourths

Louisiana, Benjamin Bardeu, a citizen of Union Parish, La., whom I certify to be a creditable person and worthy of confidence,
who being duly sworn, states that he is personally, well acquainted with applicant for pension Wm. J. Bagwell, having known
him for 40 or more years.
That he was a Confederate soldier. Belonging to Company "I" in Col. Scott's 12th Regiment of La. Infty. Vols. That as such
soldier he served from about July 1861 to the close of the war in Spring of 1865. That he was honorably discharged from such
service, and did not desert the same. That he is now and has been for the past twelve months a bona fide resident of Arkansas.
That he is incapacitated for manual labor by reason of advanced age and resulting debilitated physical condition and that
such incapacity (or disability) is not the result of his own vicious habits still persisted in. That I served in same Company
and Regiment with soldier Wm. J. Bagwell and know he made a good, faityhful soldier. That I have no interest in this claim.

State; that i am now drawing a pension as an ex-Confederate soldier, under an Act of the General Assembly of 1901, having
made my original application from the county of Scott; that I am still in indigent circumstances; that I do not myself, nor
does my wife, nor do we both together, own property, real or personal, or both, or money or choses in action in excess of
the value of $400.00 (exclusive of household goods and wearing apparel), nor has either of us conveyed title to any property
to enable me to draw a pension, and that neither I nor my wife is in receipt of any income, annuity, pension or wages for
any services, the emoluments of an office, in excess of $150.00 per year; that I am incapacitated to perform manual labor in
any of the ordinary avocations of life; that my disability has increased, and I am less able to perform manual labor than when
my original application was made, by reason of disability on account of Rheumatism and I hereby make application for an
increase of pension, under Act of the General Assembly of 1907.

at the time a pension was granted him, and that he is entitled to have the same increased to 75.00 Dollars.

That at his request I have made an examination of his physical condition and find: State description and character of

Physical condition and to what cause is his incapacity for manual labor attributale: To chronic articular rheumatism of the
wrists, one knee, and rectal fistula of long standing and that said disability is not the result of his own vicious habits
still persisted in No.
Extent of disability seventy five per cent or more.
