50TH WEDDING ANNIVERSARY

Mr. and Mrs. Sherman B. Atwood, 908 Church Street, Poteau, will observe their Golden Wedding Anniversary
with Open House at their home, Sunday, Dec. 14 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. All their friends and acquaintances are
invited. Miss Frances Willard Carnett, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. G.W. Carnett and Sherman B. Atwood, son
of the late Mr. and Mrs. James B. Atwood, were married at Heavener by Rev. Williams, a Methodist minister, Dec.
14, 1919. Mrs. Atwood was a native of Cauthron, Ark., and Sherman of Dove, Ky. Before moving back to Oklahoma,
the couple lived in East St. Louis, Ill., where he was with Aluminum Ore Co. for thirty-five years. After retiring
they lived in Heavener before buying a home and moving to Poteau. Rev. Atwood is a retired Baptist minister and
both are active in church work.
