Pictured above and below are John D. Alley and his wife Virgie (Nelson) Alley. John D. was born 14 May 1895, the youngest son of Martin VanBuren Alley and Sarah Angeline Maynard. Virgie was born c1903, a daughter of Samuel S. Nelson and Cora Shadd. John D. Alley and Virgie B. Nelson were married 27 November 1919 in Scott County. At the bottom of this page is a photo of the children of John D. Alley and Virgie Nelson. Undated photo labeled "Uncle John Alley's Kids." His children's names are: Anna Veda (b. 1921), Chester Noel (b. 1924), Ada Mae (b. 1926), John Clark (b. 1928), Audie Bell (b. 1930), Alice Jane (b. 1933), Alta Elnora (b. 1935), and Betty Angeline (b. 1940). Don't know what order these kids are in; some may not have been born yet. My guess is that Anna Veda and Betty Angeline are not pictured.
