SURNAMES: CRAWFORD
QRYTEXT: My father was JOHN WILLIAM CRAWFORD b 1901 Randolph Co, AR - d 1977
Franklin Co, IL - m Sept 1922 to UNA PERRIN b 1902 Randolph Co, AR - d 1994
Franklin Co, IL. As a child, we often visited my mother's family, but no mention
of dad's family. I understood that they had died in a flu epidemic when he was a
child. I have since gleaned some information. My grandfather was CHARLES
SYLVESTER CRAWFORD. I found him listed in 1910 Warm Springs Twp, Randolph Co as
"Crawford, C. farmer, age 30 married Laura Allen, four children, JOHN (my
father) James, Edith, and Ruth. Came from Missouri in 1879. Baptist." Thru
other sources I have learned that CHARLES' father was "known as"
EDWARD CRAWFORD and his mother was MARY BICE (Bise, Bias, Bouys, Byas???) I
remember a conversation with my dad when I was about seven/eight when he told me
that his Grandpa called himself "EDWARD" because he didn't like his
"real" name, but I just cannot remember what he said his
"real" name was. I do remember that dad said EDWARD had a brother,
uncle, father or grandfather named VALENTINE and at that age I thought it was
hysterical that anyone would be named VALENTINE. I would very much appeciate any
information on this family. Thanks, Cathy

QRYTEXT: My ancestor Mary Ann Cooper (1856-1930) married Bolen or Barland
James, son of Isaac James and Lucinda Lackston. Mary Ann's sister Silvesto
married Bolen's brother Joseph James. Yet another James brother- -Isaac
Jr.--married Margaret Sullins Cooper, although I don't know how Margaret is
related to Mary Ann and Silvesto. All 3 families lived in the Randolph/Sharp Co,
Ark. area. I am looking for information on the parents and siblings of Mary Ann
and Silvesto. Does anyone recognize them?
