Fishing at Fourche about 1912
Jess Seawel of Stokes has furnished us with this interesting photo of his two grandfathers, Sam Harmon, left, and Henry Seawel, enjoying fishing at the old mill pond just above Haley Ford on Fourche River, about 1912. Both men have been deceased for many years. Mr. Harmon resided at Tucker, Mo., and Mr. Seawel was a resident of west of Maynard. The two men fought on different sides in the Civil War; Seawel was a Confederated and was shot in a leg during the war. Harmon jokingly claimed he was the Union soldier who shot him!
