Local sportsmen often talk of fishing in the "good ole days", and the above photos are proof of the fact that a mighty fine string of bass could be caught in Randolph County rivers in the 1920's. Each of the three strings above was caught in a part of a day's float on either Black or Current Rivers, or both. In the top photo with a string of some 60 fish are, from left, Walter Pope, Lafe Bristow and C. P. (Casey) Jones. In the center photo are, from left, Green R. Jones, Walter Pope and Lafe Bristow. In the bottom photo are, from left, Mr. Bristow, Mr. Pope, and Mr. Jones. All the men are now deceased, but these fine photos, furnished by G. M. Throgmorton (Mr. Bristow's son-in-law), attest to some happy days for these four men, back in the "good ole days" in Randolph County.
