Photo of John Elijah Dalton's Homestead located on Rt 6 Doniphan right on the border of Randolph and Ripley County. The South Fork of the Fourche Dumas Creek runs through the property. John settled there in 1828. Most of the Dalton's who reside in Randolph County are decedents of John Elijah and his son David. Two of David's sons - David Daniel and Elijah "Peddler Lige" moved to Randolph County. Elijah son of John Elijah, had a homestead across from this photo.
Earl Dalton who still resides on Elijah's homestead told me that both John Elijah and Susannah Sebastian Dalton are buried near the trees seen in the center of the photo.
