This picture was taken in the summer of 1922. Little boys pictured are Vernon Bates, Jimmie Robinson, and Fate Bates, all grandsons of Victoria and Horace Bates. Little girls pictured are: Gloria Bates, Marietta Robinson, Neva Bramlett (grand-daughters). Celia Bates Robinson (daughter) standing behind girls, Etta Bates Bramlett (daughter) holding baby Norman, and Claude Bramlett. Back row: Lowell Bates son of Williston, Myrtle Bates holding baby boy Jackie, Elmer Bates, Victoria Collier Bates, B. Horace Bates, Williston Bates & Ed Bates sons of Horace & Victoria. NOTE: Other than the girlhood picture of Victoria, this may be the earliest of her. She and Horace took in three of their grandsons and raised them. Vernon and Fate were sons of Jim Bates who died and Heber Barringer (not in picture) was son of Nancy (Bates) Barringer.
