Thomas Benton Wallis family

Thomas Wallis was born April 15, 1846.
He was the son of Elias Wallis and Lucindy Goore. He fought in
the Calvary during the Civil War. Thomas married Susan Frances
Foster in Mayfield, Kentucky. He died November 23, 1920 in
Birdell, Randolph County, Arkansas, and is buried in Old Union
Cemetery, Imboden.
Susan Foster Wallis was born in January, 1851 in Humbolt,
Tennessee. She died May 17, 1931 in Birdell, Arkansas and is
buried in Old Union Cemetery.
Thomas and Susan had the following
children:
1) William Elias Wallis, b. 12 Nov 1867, Humbolt, TN; m. Minnie
Oaks Young; died Jan 26, 1917 in Sharum, Arkansas, buried in Old
Union Cemetery.
2) Cora Wallis, b. August, 1875 TN; m. William Crocker.
3) Bula Ann Wallis, b. October 2, 1882 TN; married twice: Charles
Jackson and John H. Lingle; died February 9, 1924 and is buried
in New Hope Cemetery, Pollard, Arkansas.
4) Thadeous Edward Wallis, b. Jan 1, 1885 TN; married twice:
Allie Hufstedler and Ethel Starling; died February 13, 1973 and
buried in Old Union Cemetery, Imboden.
5) Pearl Wallis, b. September, 1887 TN; married Lewis Sells on
Dec. 29, 1907 in Pollard, Clay County, Arkansas.
6) Bertha Iva Wallis, b. Sept. 1888 TN; married Terrance Virgil
Cooper on July 28, 1917 in Clay County, AR.
7) Fannie Wallis, born in Gibson County, TN; married Oscar B.
Crocker; died in 1954.
8) James Wallis, married twice: Betty Bluston and Nanny May.
9) Carrie Wallis.

The Wallis' lived at the bottom of the
hill where the old Union school and Union cementary are. ; the
wallis picture you pulled from the Gibson cty; site in Tn. was
taken April 25,1912;the day the Titantic sank;written on back of
picture;this picture Im sure was taken in the woods near their
home; they lived I believe on Crowleys ridge ; or very near it;
Thomas and Susan(Foster) were my great grand parents;
their daughter Bulah married my grandfather John Henry
Lingle;they lived in Pollard;Clay cty and had 5 children;plus
raised a daughter from Bulahs first marriage to Charles
Jackson;all the pictures I have are taken by Oscar Crocker;
husband of Fannie (Wallis) daughter of Thomas and Susan; they
lived in Milan;gibson. Tn.

Written on the back of this picture was: taken April 25, 1912,
the day the Titantic sank. I'm sure it was taken in the woods
near their home. They lived I believe on Crowleys Ridge, or very

Their daughter, Bulah, married my grandfather, John Henry Lingle.
They lived in Pollard, Clay County and had 5 children, plus
raised a daughter from Bulah's first marriage to Charles Jackson.
All the pictures I have are taken by Oscar Crocker, husband of
Fannie Wallis, daughter of Thomas and Susan. Oscar and Fannie
lived in Milan, Gibson, Tn.

Front row: Seated Father William Elias Wallis, Jr., son Herman,
and Mother Minnie Oaks (Young). Her mother was a full bloodied
Cherokee Indian. She is holding child unidentified that died
young.
These are all daughters of Thomas and Susan(Foster)Wallis.
