Mr. Shaver is a native of Randolph County, was born in that portion known as Cherokee Bay, Jan. 27, 1861. He was married Sept. 4, 1881, to Miss Minta A. Mitchell, who died Feb. 20, 1884, leaving him one child, a boy, who is now 17 years old. Mr. Shaver was reared on a farm, and remained there until 1895, when he moved to Reyno and entered the mercantile business, which he has managed so successfully that he is now one of the leading business men of Reyno.
