IN PRAIRIE COUNTY, ARKANSAS

This compilation came about as a research project to locate documentation on individuals associated with Prairie County, Arkansas, and the Confederate forces during the American Civil War (1861-1865). Data has been collected over the last six years from individuals and research spanning the last 15 years. During the war years, almost all of what is now Lonoke County, Arkansas, was within the boundaries of Prairie County, Arkansas. There are over 1,800 listings offered here. Individual researchers are encouraged to contact the author for further information on these men. This will probably become a continuing research project. This, I am sure, is only a partial listing of known participants. Included in this index are men who:

Were born in Prairie County, Arkansas and joined up here;

Moved into Prairie County, Arkansas and joined the Confederate forces as a resident of Prairie County, Arkansas;

Moved into Prairie County, Arkansas post-war, and/or drew a CSA pension;

Served elsewhere but just happened to have died in Prairie County, Arkansas.

PLEASE NOTE: Almost every participant must have been born
prior to 1850 to have been a part of the Civil War.
