Their 7th child, Sarah Elizabeth RYE (11 July 1842 - 9 Apr 1926) married John M. WINFIELD on 3 Nov 1858. John is the son of John WINFIELD and Eliza A. BEARD. He purchased land there and was in business with a man named Scarlett. Daughter, Martha, married Dr. D.F. Armstrong, who died in 1863 and is buried in Galley Rock Public Cemetery along with Mrs. Sarah Newby, mother in law of J.W. Nicholson, and some Nicholson children. Is there still a Galley Rock Cemetary? I would appreciate hearing from anyone and sharing information. There is supposed to be a deed of sale in the courthouse, of slaves from Mr. Nicholson to Mr. Scarlett.Does anyone have cemetery records?

My great-grandmother, Lottie SLOANE, corresponded with a Mr. Cochran through a Lonely Hearts Club in the late 1800's or early 1900's and later married him. Lottie's last place of residence that I know of was Clinton, Iowa where her 1st husband, Leonard Juckett died. She brought 2 childre with her, Lyman A. JUCKETT and his sister Marion. He was married twice, but I do not know what his first wife's name was. He had a child by this marriage named Bryant REED. He remarried on March 5th, 1912 to Rebecca Melinda Lemons in Pope Co. The MG was J.B Baughn. They remained in Pope Co. for several years before moving to Texas. He died in March of 1935 in Lindale, Tx. Before he died, he never gave much information about himself and would not answer questions about any of his family. I was told there is a possibility that he had a brother named Henry. He is my Grandfather and I can't go back any farther on my family tree until I get some infomation on him. His parents were listed in a Texas census that I found him on as being from Georgia and Arkansas.
