Near Old Potter. In the family burying ground on the old home place near
Old Potter, the remains of Young KcKinney, member of one of Polk's pioneer
families, were quietly laid to rest Sunday afternoon. There was a large
gathering of friends and relatives to pay the last respects to one who had
long been identified with activities of the highland country. The burial
services held at the Primitive Baptist church in Mena, where Elder L.N.
Barrow persided. The funeral party then moved to the old home place where
the final rites were conducted. The pall bearers were all intimate friends
of long standing with the decedent and included A.E. Wear, J.H. Allen, Joe
Emerson, Sr., J.P. Bullion, Charles McMillan and R.L. Gore. The passing of
Young McKinney occurred Friday night at Little Rock and came only a few
days after a nervous breakdown suffered at Conway, where he had been
looking after property and business interests. The remains were brought to
Mena Sunday morning, accompanied by an only son, Ewing McKinney of Conway,
and were taken to the Beasley Funeral home to await the burial hour. Many
relatives came to Mena for the interment. They included in addition to the
only son and his wife, also Jack McKinney from Conway, the only daughter,
