Funeral
services for Mrs. Ada J. Keeton was held Saturday, April 8, at 2:00 oclock
in the Northside Church of Christ with Rev. Joe Crawford officiating.
Burial was in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery under the direction of the Geyer
Funeral Home. Casketbearers were: C.Y. Blakeny, Lloyd Wainscott, Wilburn
Robbins, Fred Ping and Willard Lance. Mrs. Keeton was born June 3, 1878 at
Cottonwood Falls, Kansas, and died April 5, 1967 at Mena. She was 88 years
old. They came to Polk County in the early days and homesteaded a farm
near Cove. They moved to Mena in 1942. She married John Keeton in 1897 at
Old Dallas, and he preceeded her in death in 1954. Survivors include one
son, Lorin Keeton of Texarkana; two daughters, Mrs. Hazel Sawyer of St.
Elmo, Ill., and Mrs. Maud Carter of Kansas City, Mo., one sister, Mrs. Ida
Hungate of De Queen; also 17 grandchildren and 37 great grandchildren and
37 great grandchildren, and 4 great-greatgrandchildren. Out of town
relatives and firends attending were, Mr. And Mrs. Loyd Gibbons, Houston,
Tex., Mr. And Mrs. Lorene Howell and son, Phillip, of Fort Wayne, Ind.,
Mr. And Mrs. Loren Jefferson of Marlin, Okla., Mr. And Mrs. Howard Carter
of Kansas City, Mo., Mr. And Mrs. T.V. Carter of Kansas City, Mo., Mr. And
Mrs. L.E. Sawyer of St. Elmo, Ill., Mr. And Mrs. Loren Keeton of
Texarkana, Mr. And Mrs. C.J. Carter of Rogers, Ark., Mr. And Mrs. D.L.
Branch of Texarkana, Mrs. Rose Wagers of Fort Scott, Kan., Mr. And Mrs.
C.A. Carter of Plain Dealing, La., Ruby Lee Gore of Texankana, Texas, and
MRs. Nell Cox and daughter, Pat of Wewoka, Okla.

"Funeral service for Mrs Dora Ann Keyes of Mena who died Monday
night, October 10, was held Saturday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the
Beasley-Wood Chapel with the Rev. Claud Hughes, pastor of the Dallas
Avenue Baptist church officiating. Burial in Pine-Crest Memorial Park was
directed by the funeral home. The pall bearers were Jim Gately, Clinton
McBee, Floyd Cunningham, Marvin Craig, Bill Martin Jr. and Harris
Wimberly. Mrs Keyes was born April 6, 1878 in Polk County. She was married
to Carlos Keyes, January 4, 1896, in Mena. She was a member of the
Methodist Church. Besides her husband, she is survived by three daughters,
Mrs Hazel Peters, San Diego, Calif., Mrs Kelsie Ford, Mena; Mrs Edith
Tilley, Phoenix, Arizona., a son James Keyes, Mena, 12 grandchildren, and
22 great-grand-children. Those from out of town, other then the immediate
family, who attended the funeral of Mrs Carlos Keyes last Saturday were
Mrs Margaret Mooney and children,and Mr and Mrs Bill Kelly (Tilley) of
Phoenix, Arizona., Mrs Mary McDonough and children of Merced, Calif., Mrs
Ann Swaty of Houston, Tex., Clarence Mantooth, Tulsa, Okla., and Harlan
Mantooth, and Mrs Jewel Savage of Okmulgee, Okla., and Mr and Mrs Gail
Ford of Little Rock."

Funeral
service for Mrs. Caroline Louise Kindler, wife of Ernest Kindler, who died
Wednesday at her home at Hatton, 20 miles south of here, was held Friday
afternoon at 1:30 o'clock at the Hatton community church with the Rev.
Fred Atterbury officiating. Burial took place at the Witherspoon cemetery
near Cove with the Beasley-Wood Funeral Home direction. The pallbearers
were George Presley, B. Lally, B.E. Schiller, Lawrence Edmond, Charles
Pardue and J.W. Harkey. Mrs. Kindler was a native of Germany and was born
Septermber 25, 1868. She had been a resident of the Hatton community for
the past 31 years. She was a member of the Lutheran church. Besides her
husband she is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Gertrude Bismarck and Mrs.
Elsie Quigley of Hatton; a son, Paul Kindler of Kansas City, Mo; nineteen
grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Kindler, retired forester who died Thursday at his home at Hatton was held
Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Hatton community church with the
Rev. Fred Atteberry officiating. Burial at the Witherspoon cemetery was
directed by the Beasley-Wood Funeral Home. The pallbearers were John
Harkey, C. Wren, B.E. Schiller, Luther House, George Presley and George
Lewis.
Mr. Kindler was a native of Germany and was born August 13,
1860. He came to the United States in 1884 and had been a resident of the
Hatton community for the past 31 years. Preceded in death by his wife,
Carolyn Kindler.
